The Shadowborne Society is an immersive arts collective devoted to dark fantasy, wearable art, and atmospheric storytelling. We create curated exhibitions, soirées, and future retreats that blend fashion, visual art, music, movement, and narrative into living, immersive experiences. Rooted in morally grey fantasy and shadowed beauty, the Society exists to support independent artists and creators while offering guests environments that feel like stepping into another realm. Our gatherings are intentionally designed to be intimate, art-forward, and experiential rather than traditional events. Each Shadowborne Society gathering is crafted as its own descent—an invitation to explore fantasy as fine art, not spectacle.

Each Shadowborne Society event is designed as an immersive experience rather than a traditional gathering. Guests can expect an intentional curated environment where wearable art, visual art, music, performance, and storytelling exist together within a cohesive atmosphere. Rather than a fixed schedule, our events unfold organically—inviting exploration, discovery, and connection. You may encounter gallery-style installations, live or ambient performances, couture and wearable art presented as exhibition, and moments of narrative or ritual woven throughout the evening. While every event is unique, all Shadowborne Society gatherings share a commitment to intention, artistry, and atmosphere. No two descents are ever the same.

The Shadowborne Society is rooted in morally grey fantasy and explores the darker, more complex edges of art, storytelling, and desire. Our events may feature dark romantasy authors, wearable art and couture designers, visual artists, performers, and creators whose work engages with themes of power, shadow, intimacy, devotion, and transformation. Depending on the gathering, this can include spoken word or readings, audio storytelling, movement and performance, and educational or artistic explorations of sensual or ritualistic practices as they relate to fantasy and art. Because dark romantasy often intersects with mature themes, emotional depth, and adult expression, all Shadowborne Society events are intentionally 21+. This ensures a respectful, informed, and consensual environment for both artists and attendees. We do not aim to shock—but we do allow space for art that is evocative, provocative, and unapologetically grown.

Events take place in the Southern California region with spaces in Ventura all the way to Santa Barbara. We look for spaces along the coast line, often wineries or boutique hotels, galleries, castles, and mansions that are unique to theme we are crafting.

Yes. All events will have a strict 21+ age restriction. While many other events often allow 18+, due to the nature of our events, we feel it best to further restrict to 21+.

Our events vary in size, with some VIP events as intimate as 60, while other exhibitions as large as 300 with after parties to follow for VIP guests and performers/artists/vendors. We will not host events much larger than that any time soon as we aim to curate a distinct immersive experience for our guests. Retreats will be limited to no more than 30 guests.

Yes, we do plan to host meet-ups such as picnics with local wineries in the Solvang, Santa Barbara, & Ventura areas. These will not be curated, but more of a themed picnic.
