Join the Society

Our Mission: 

To create a space where fantasy lovers, artists, designers, and romantasy readers can gather together inside an immersive world—one that celebrates couture, storytelling, creativity, and dark beauty in all its forms.

Our events exist to:

  • Elevate fantasy arts to a fine-art experience

  • Champion local and independent creators

  • Introduce a new genre of artistic events to the California Coast

  • Build an annual tradition that grows into larger retreats, balls, and multi-day festivals
     

This is the beginning of a legacy.

Apply to Join the Society

All members of the society must be active members in the fantasy / bookish / dark romance / or art community. While there is NO cost to a part of the society and you do not need to have a following, the society is designed to be exclusive to creatives, authors, artists, writers, designers, creators, and those with a deep passion for this genre. Event locations are only shared with society members to keep the integrety of the society exclusive.

All events are tailored for those 21+. This is to verify that you meet the age requirements to attend the events.

Please allow up to 1 week to hear back from us. If your application is approved, you will receive an upgraded role in our discord to "Shadowborn Society" which grants access to the exclusive channels where we share event locations, chat about whats coming next, and you'll have the chance to shape the society as a whole. Volunteer Roles Needed

Finance Coordinator

Helps guide the financial planning for events and projects, ensuring budgets are clear, realistic, and well-managed. Reviews expenses, provides recommendations, and helps us make smart financial decisions. Supports The Shadowborne Society in staying organized, transparent, and sustainable as we continue to grow. 

Coordinating Assistant

Assists our society founders as needed with key elements of our events such as storylines, venues, volunteers, and logistics. Helps ensure smooth planning, clear communication, and a positive experience for our blossoming community. 

Event Volunteers

Helps with events as needed to coordinate decor, direct guests, and work with coordinators and directors. 

Social Media Assistant

Assists and supports social media outreach and development of social media campaigns for events. Helps develop newsletters and work promote social networking across multiple channels. 

Artist and Exhibitor Coordinator

Helps with intake and communication with artists, designers, authors, and performers.  Assists with. gallery layout and exhibition placement. Ensuring all artists have what they need (space, signage, lighting touches). Helps with coordinating with the setup team on install day.

Photographer

While I know this is more of a nice-to-have, we are always willing to collaborate with photographers to cross-promote each other's work if our styles and values align. We would love to work with others in the community!
